Community Meeting September 25th
For the past several months, the Board of Directors has been investigating the feasibility of constructing a community swimming pool in Fairfield. After consulting with contractors and design professionals, as well as obtaining both construction and operating cost estimates, the Board would like to present these findings for your review and consideration.
An Informational Meeting will be held on Thursday, September 25th, 7:00 pm at the Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th Street. The purpose of this meeting will be to present the Board’s findings and proposal for a community swimming pool, and to respond to questions and comments you may have regarding the proposal. All homeowners in Fairfield are encouraged to attend and participate in this meeting.
Before the association can proceed with a project such as this, funding will need to be provided in the form of a special assessment for pool construction, as well as increased annual dues to fund pool operations. Neither the special assessment nor an increase in annual dues may occur without the consent of the association’s membership. This will require that a special meeting be conducted and that at least 75% of those in attendance approve the special assessment. Increasing annual dues will also require a special meeting at which at least 66 2/3% of those in attendance approve an increase in annual dues. Because Fairfield’s governing documents do not permit proxy, mail-in, or absentee voting, members MUST be present at the special meeting in order to vote.
This will be a very important meeting, so please mark your calendars and make plans to attend.
PLEASE NOTE – A vote to levy a special assessment or increase annual dues WILL NOT be taken at the Community Meeting on September 25th.
Please mark your calendars. We look forward to hearing from you at the meeting.
